Allina Health 10.18.22 statement on SEIU-represented senior mental health coordinators contract negotiations

This week, Allina Health met with SEIU for the 20th time to work toward an initial contract agreement that is fair, realistic and recognizes the valuable contributions of our senior mental health coordinators.

Allina Health offered to raise wages and increase our wage scales, that take into account each individual’s work experience, which would result in a wage increase of more than an 8%, on average. Those increases would be in addition to the guaranteed step increases, as well as 2022 merit increases many employees received.

However, SEIU continues to seek an unrealistic compensation package, that includes wage increases that are 16%-23% higher than what the union recently agreed to with M Health Fairview, as well as other expensive economic enhancements.

We have reached tentative agreements with the union on many non-economic proposals and are disappointed the union appears unwillingly to negotiate a reasonable economic package. We look forward to meeting with the union again on Nov. 2. to continue working toward an agreement that addresses the priorities of both parties, and honors our commitment to other employees, patients and the communities we serve.
