Allina Health launches Hello4Health to help individuals increase social connections and build resilience

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (April 26, 2021) — After more than a year of COVID-19 and recommendations to maintain physical distancing, Allina Health is launching Hello4Health, an initiative that offers online resources and activities to help adults improve their social connections and mental wellness, while building community resiliency.

“Hello4Health combats the increasing and critical issue of social isolation in the U.S.,” said Allina Health psychologist Sarah Paper, PsyD. “Adults across the country will soon be experiencing social interactions that may have been missing during COVID-19 restrictions. Hello4Health’s resources and activities can help people create stronger connections between friends, family and colleagues and rebuild community resiliency impacted by COVID-19.”

Hello4Health was developed as a response to the 2020-2022 Allina Health Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) which identified social isolation as a factor contributing to poor mental wellness among adults. This data is supported by research from Healthy Cities By Design, funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, aimed at solving the decades-long issue of rising rates of social isolation in the United States. Allina Health also offers mental wellness resources for teens through the Change to Chill initiative after similarly seeing a need for programming through previous CHNAs.
