Allina Health Cancer Institute opens Piper Breast Center at Mercy Hospital

(Minneapolis, MN) April 7, 2021 - To further its vision to deliver seamless, coordinated and compassionate breast cancer care delivered closer to home, Allina Health Cancer Institute is opening a comprehensive breast center in the Mercy Hospital Specialty Center on April 7, 2021.

The new Mercy Piper Breast Center is the first of its kind in the north metro area. The comprehensive breast cancer care program follows a multidisciplinary care model that aligns with the Abbott Northwestern and United Breast Centers. The Mercy Piper Breast Center includes state-of-the-art screening, diagnostics and treatment for breast cancer, as well as breast cancer education, genetic counseling and high-risk breast cancer programs.

“The new Mercy Piper Breast Center brings radiologists, surgeons, oncologists, care coordinators and other providers together to deliver the highest quality of breast imaging and treatment that is evidence-based,” said Dr. David Aamodt, diagnostic radiology specialist at the Mercy Piper Breast Center “By connecting care across the full continuum, we can provide a seamless experience for our patients.”

The Mercy Piper Breast Center will begin seeing patients on April 7, 2021 at its new location at 11850 Blackfoot Street NW in Coon Rapids. The center will provide breast imaging, appointments, genetic counseling, and breast cancer treatments.
