Artemis’ Milk Depot

Second only to mother’s own breast milk, donated milk is a wonderful way for babies to receive the very best nutrition. Donor milk is often used as a bridge to help nourish premature babies until a birth mother’s milk comes in. Locally-donated milk is safely processed, screened and pasteurized for premature or sick infants.

How to donate milk

  • To begin the process, visit MN Milk Bank’s Donate Milk page. There you can see the steps needed, which include filling out an online form and undergoing a phone screening about your health and lifestyle, and then a blood draw to check for a few blood-borne diseases.
  • Look for an email with your donor number.
  • After you receive your donor number, make an appointment with Owatonna Hospital Birth Center. Please call 507-977-2455 to arrange your drop off to Artemis’ Milk Depot.
