Allina Health names Jacqueline Thomas-Hall Vice President, Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer

MINNEAPOLIS (March 30, 2021) — Allina Health is proud to name Jacqueline Thomas-Hall as Vice President and Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (CDE&I) Officer. Thomas-Hall will be assuming the new position starting immediately.

"Jacqueline is an exceptional leader whose efforts in the diversity, equity, and inclusion space have transformed how we talk about inequity at Allina Health and how we accelerate our actions to close harmful disparity gaps,” said Penny Wheeler, MD and CEO of Allina Health. “This past year has been a tragic reminder about the effects systemic racism and inequity cause—both in our daily lives and in health care outcomes. Addressing inequity in health care is an important part of Allina Health’s Whole Way to Better journey and I look forward to seeing Jacqueline bring this work to tremendous new heights as Vice President and Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer.”

In her new role, Thomas-Hall will continue advancing Allina Health’s diversity, equity, and inclusion roadmap across the organization’s four key roles of provider, employer, investor / purchaser, and community partner.

“I am honored to begin this new role as Vice President and Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer,” Jacqueline Thomas-Hall said. “While we continue to learn and grow in this space, it will only strengthen our mission and devotion to providing the highest quality of care for all those we serve and, in time, create stronger, more resilient ties in our communities throughout Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.”

As Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Jacqueline and her team helped implement many systemwide approaches to DE&I work including concepts like Critical Conversations, an interactive series where Allina Health leaders from various backgrounds and walks of life discuss important and timely topics like racial disparities in health care; Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) where employees can meet and talk with other Allina Health employees that identify in similar communities as them; and created the CEO DE&I Council.
