Optional casual interview dinner

The evening before each interview day, interviewees are invited to attend a casual, laid-back dinner hosted by our residents and family members at a local restaurant. The dinner will provide interviewees the chance to relax and chat with residents in an informal setting prior to the interview day. Casual attire.

What's the interview day like?

If you drive, please park in the lower level of the parking ramp located at the entry of the Peter J. King Family Health Center. Parking is free. Please join us at the clinic entry closest to the parking ramp.

The interview day begins at the Peter J. King Family Health Center located at 1026 West Seventh Street in St. Paul. The center is home to United Family Medicine Clinic and the United Family Medicine Residency Program. Joy Gray and our host residents will greet you at the clinic entry. If helpful, you may bring your luggage with you and it will be held until your departure at the end of the day.

7:30 - 9 a.m. - Please arrive at the clinic no later than 7:30 a.m. where we begin the day. You will depart the clinic with residents for a casual breakfast at a community restaurant. If there's snow in the forecast, please wear your boots.

9:00 - 10:00 a.m. - Applicants will join Tim Rumsey, M.D., faculty, for a tour of our West Seventh Community.

10:00 - 10:45 a.m. - Tour of clinic and review of general program information.

10:45 - 12:15 a.m. - Applicants to meet individually with Program Director, Associate Program Director and Program Manager.

12:15 - 1:00 p.m. - Applicants to join Residents and Faculty for noon conference lecture and lunch.

1:15 - 2:00/2:30 p.m. - Applicants to tour United Hospital with Resident.

2:30 p.m. Most applicants will finish their day by 2:30 p.m. You are welcome to stay longer to sit-in on clinical precepting. You are welcome to stay and sit-in on afternoon clinic/precepting to ensure that all your questions have been answered before you leave.
