Internships at Abbott Northwestern Hospital

The internship program offer introductory, specialized training in clinical spiritual care, emphasizing spiritual/theological integration, ethical reflection and leadership in spiritual care. Interns experience clinical assignments that provide in-depth exposure to specialty areas, enabling each student to become an integral part of the health care team.

All CPE units require at least 400 hours of educational and ministry activity. Time commitments for these units vary from approximately 13 hours per week in the hospital for the super extended unit, 20 to 26 hours per week in the fall and spring for semester-long units, to 40 hours per week in the hospital during the summer intensive unit. All units include additional scheduled on-call hours for overnights and weekends.
