Internships
The internship programs offer introductory, specialized training in clinical spiritual care, emphasizing spiritual/theological integration, ethical reflection and leadership in spiritual care. Interns experience clinical assignments that provide in-depth exposure to specialty areas, enabling each student to become an integral part of the health care team.
Time commitment for these units vary from 13 hours per week in the hospital for the super extended unit, 20 to 26 hours per week in the fall and spring for semester-long units, to 40 hours per week in the hospital during the summer intensive unit. All units include additional scheduled on-call hours for overnights and weekends.
Spring extended unit at Mercy Hospital
- Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids with Joel Jueckstock and Kyle Vlach. January 31, 2022 – May 27, 2022. The unit will include 20 hours/week of clinical work on the hospital floors and 4 hours/week of group educational time for an overall commitment of 24 hours/week.
