The Virginia Piper Cancer Institute provides comprehensive care through all aspects of cancer prevention, early detection and treatment to help individuals maintain quality of life and find ways to live with and beyond cancer.
We believe that the care we provide is as unique as the patients and families we serve. The life of every individual we encounter is defined by many experiences. Cancer is just one of them.
We are here to understand the needs you and your family have and to guide and support you every step of the way.
At the Virginia Piper Cancer Institute, your care team includes doctors and health care professionals who specialize in diagnosing and caring for those facing cancer.
A network of surgeons, pathologists, radiation oncologists and radiologists are also a part of the care team.
In addition, registered nurses, genetic counselors, physical therapists, registered dietitians, pharmacists and surgery and outpatient services staff are all active participants in your care.
Each member of the team works closely together to make sure that evaluation of all issues is done cohesively and concisely.
The services we offer are designed to bring your cancer care as
close to home as possible. These services include:
Getting treatment close to home can make life easier. Our experienced, certified chemotherapy registered nurses ensure chemotherapy and other infusion therapies are as comfortable as possible. They closely monitor and care for patients during treatment.
Our nurses specialize in chemotherapy symptom management and are an excellent resource for patients. If you have questions or concerns about your chemotherapy or infusion therapy, you are welcome to call or schedule an appointment to get the help you need.
We have twelve chemotherapy/IV therapy suites and all rooms have heated, reclining chairs with massage capabilities. The rooms are also equipped with flat screen televisions and extra chairs for visitors.
Parking is conveniently located close to the medical center entrance.
Chemotherapy and infusion therapy services are also available to patients who are receiving care from a doctor not affiliated with Cambridge Medical Center or Minnesota Oncology.
Radiology Department is proud to be accredited by the American College of
Radiology for CT and nuclear medicine imaging.
We are certified by the American
College of Radiology and have consistently received exceptional
reviews from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Mammography Quality
Sooner is better than later for detecting breast cancer. Many statistics support this, but Tami Strantz of Cambridge, Minnesota, knows firsthand how important early detection is.
