Current needs

Donors like you are an essential part of the team at Cambridge Medical Center. Like our dedicated caregivers, technicians, and support staff, donors help us build on our strengths and pioneer new approaches that lead to better treatments for our patients. You help us take care of the little things that matter when a person is most vulnerable. Your support changes lives.

We invite you to help us continue advancing care close to home by supporting the cause that is closest to your heart:

Mental Health and Addiction Services

Half of all Americans will experience a mental health condition during their lifetime. About 20 million Americans suffer an addiction every year.  Additionally, about a third of those with a substance use disorder also have a mental health condition.  The good news is that help is available and recovery is possible.

Cambridge Medical Center offers a wide variety of programs and services for people with mental health conditions, an addiction, or both. Donations enhance programming and healing opportunities for our patients.

Cancer Care

More often than not, receiving a cancer diagnosis means also receiving a financial diagnosis.  The combination of medical bills and lost wages can add complexity to an already stressful situation.  Providing support to our cancer patients is a great way to directly and positively care for our neighbors when they need it most. Gifts help to fund:

  • Patient Transportation – There are times when a patient must go to a different hospital or clinic to receive a portion of their treatment.  Help our patients without reliable transportation, or unable to afford gas, get to their appointments, ensuring the best possible outcome.
  • Emergency Assistance – When a patient must make the difficult decision of choosing to spend their income on medications or their utility bills, donations to the patience emergency fund may be an option for relief.

Healing Environments

A healing environment is a space or area that has a nurturing and therapeutic effect. Studies show that well-designed hospital environments can reduce patients’ anxiety and stress, accelerate recovery, reduce medication use, and promote a sense of well-being. Healing environments include artwork, painted walls in vibrant, optimistic colors, music, and more. A contribution to the Healing Environments fund positively affects each person who walks through our doors.

Reach Out and Read

Did you know that 80% of a child’s brain forms between birth and age 3?  Children benefit from reading and other language-rich experiences starting at birth.  Reading together furthers language acquisition, promotes brain development and provides families with an opportunity to build robust, lasting bonds.

Reach Out and Read gives young children a foundation for success by incorporating books into pediatric care and encouraging families to read aloud together.  With your help, we can positively affect children’s healthy development.

We purchase our books in bulk to receive a discounted rate. Buying in bulk is one way we stretch contributions for the most significant impact.  Wondering how your gift will be used? There are three ways to look at sponsorship:

  • Book Sponsor: With a donation of just $10, we can purchase four high-quality books! A $30 gift will buy 12 high-quality books!
  • Child Sponsor: Your donation of $25 will provide funding for a child’s entire Reach Out and Read book collection from birth to 5 years.
  • Program Sponsor: For $250, you can sponsor an entire week of Reach Out and Read at Allina Health in Cambridge and Isanti Clinics!  That is approximately 250 books!
