Current needs

Donors like you are an important part of the team at Buffalo Hospital. Like our dedicated caregivers, providers, technicians and support staff, donors help us build on our strengths and pioneer new approaches that lead to better treatments for our patients. They help us take care of the little things that really matter when a person is most vulnerable. They help us change lives.

We invite you to help us continue advancing care close to home by supporting the cause that is closest to your heart:

Cancer Care

A cancer diagnosis can bring so many new burdens to an individual or family. A patient will face not only the physical difficulties of their cancer and treatment, but mental, emotional, spiritual, and financial difficulties as well. Your gifts to the Cancer Care Fund will help us continue to serve local cancer patients when they need it the most. From the Community Cancer Care Fund, offering financial aid to those who have found their diagnosis to be a financial burden, to support groups, retreats, and state of the art facilities at Buffalo Hospital, your gifts help local patients receive all their care close to home and additional levels of support beyond their cancer treatment.

Nature’s Healing Spaces

A healing environment is defined as one that has a nurturing and therapeutic effect. Studies show that well-designed hospital environments can reduce patients’ anxiety and stress, accelerate recovery, shorten hospitalizations, reduce medication use, lessen pain, and promote a sense of well-being.

Buffalo Hospital’s healing landscape provides a restorative sanctuary for patients, a quiet refuge for staff and a tranquil destination for the entire community to enjoy.

You can be a part of putting the final touches on this project, such as a pergola, seating for the patio and native prairie grass restoration around the pond. Naming opportunities provide you with an opportunity to be recognized for your generosity for years to come.

Prevention for Patients

Our care for our patients goes beyond hospital walls and inpatient services. If we can keep a patient from an emergency room visit, admission or re-admission after a hospital stay, then we are fulfilling part of Allina Health’s promise of Whole Person Care for all and creating better health outcomes. Many chronic conditions can be monitored at home with the help of blood pressure cuffs, high-accuracy scales, thermometers and other home monitoring aids. A gift to the Prevention for Patients fund will help us provide equipment and medical technology for in-home use by patients, allowing them to report changes to their vitals before they become ill enough to require hospitalization, and reducing health care costs.

Living Well

Buffalo Hospital Foundation promotes wellness in our community through a variety of programs, projects, services and facilities. Your gifts to the Living Well Fund have helped us establish the Penny George Institute for Health and Healing at Buffalo Hospital – bringing holistic healing services and integrative medicine to complement traditional medical services. We have created the Wellness Cove Fitness Center for Buffalo Hospital and Clinic employees. In conjunction with a variety of physicians and specialists, the Foundation hosts health panel events, giving community members the chance to learn more and ask questions about relevant health care topics. Your gifts will help us sustain these important resources and activities in our community, and will help many on their journey to health.

Unrestricted – Fund for Excellence

Today, countless members of our community are leading better lives because of the medical care and rehabilitation services at Buffalo Hospital. General support gifts fund programs in greatest need. These contributions provide the hospital with the most flexibility in addressing the particular needs of the institution each year.
