Whether it’s a question that pops into you head about a recent visit or finding the date of your last tetanus shot, turn to your account. Email with your care team

Quickly communicate with your care team by sending a secure medical message, instead of a phone call, when you have:

  • a follow-up question from an office visit or eVisit within seven days
  • a request for a referral or a form that needs to be completed
  • results from home monitoring 
  • questions about medicines or a test result
  • other non-urgent questions

Medical messaging is free. You can send a message 24/7 and expect a response to your message within four business hours Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except when your clinic is closed. Many messages are answered by the clinic staff, and your provider will be consulted if necessary. Your message and the response will become part of your health record.

Health information at your fingertips

It's hard to rely on your memory for every last detail. Use your account to recall important health information, including:

  • immunization history
  • detailed provider notes from clinic visits
  • follow-up instructions discussed during a clinic, hospital, urgent care or emergency department visit
  • medications
  • allergies

You can even use your account to request and download your full health record.

Schedule and manage appointments

Avoid being put on hold or overheard discussing sensitive health issues when you manage appointments online:

  • Schedule virtual visit appointments with your provider or the provider of you choice                
  • cancel appointments
  • view upcoming appointments 

See your provider face-to-face with a virtual visit

Virtual visits are a convenient care option offering you the flexibility to see your provider face-to-face, like a secure video conference. There’s no need to drive to the clinic and you avoid crowded waiting rooms. Virtual visit appointments are scheduled during regular clinic hours. Virtual visits are best experienced using the Allina Health account app on your mobile device.

Note that Allina Health Everyday Online is available 24/7 for online visits -- no appointments needed. To do an online visit you will need to create an account, separate from your Allina Health account.

Request a prescription refill for medications in your health record at any Allina Health Pharmacy. Refill requests can be:

  • for yourself, or a child or another adult to whom you have proxy access
  • be mailed directly to your home at no additional charge
  • delivered using concierge service to The Commons, for Allina Health employees

To request a refill the medication needs to be listed in the health record and have refills left. Refills are generally available within two business days. If no refills remain, your clinic must approve a renewal before for the pharmacy can refill the medicine, which may take up to three business days.

Proxy Access

Proxy access to another's health record can help make managing the care of a child or another adult easier. With proxy access you have the ability to access many of the same online features you do with your own account, including:

  • detailed visit notes and follow-up instructions*
  • lab results*
  • email with the care team
  • schedule and manage appointments*
  • view and pay bills
  • prescription refills*
