Allina Health and Northfield Hospital + Clinics: Exploring an Expanded Partnership
Allina Health and Northfield Hospital + Clinics (NH+C) have signed a non-binding letter of intent to explore an expanded partnership that strengthens healthcare services in the Northfield community.
This partnership builds on Allina Health’s commitment to care close to home and its reputation for excellence in specialty care. It will also support NH+C’s expansion of primary care and strengthen alignment on specialty services in community and when higher levels of care are needed.
What does this mean for patients?
- No immediate changes to your care. You will continue to see your current providers, including family medicine, pediatrics, mental health, and sports medicine.
- Uninterrupted access. Your care will not be interrupted during this transition.
- Future plans. Allina Health would transition ownership of our Northfield Clinic to NH+C, which has expressed strong interest in bringing many providers and staff into their organization.
- Specialty care continuity. For some specialties, care may continue through a professional services agreement, allowing providers to remain Allina Health employees while serving patients locally.
- Timeline. The agreement is expected to be finalized in early 2026, with the clinic transition planned for summer 2026.
- Our commitment. Allina Health remains dedicated to high-quality care and seamless coordination between primary and specialty services.
