My care

The Annual Medicare Open Enrollment period is Oct. 15 - Dec. 7, 2026. If you wish to receive care from Allina Health’s expansive network of care providers, hospitals, clinics and specialty services in 2027, consider selecting a plan from the list below.

Allina Health is expected to be in network with the following Medicare Advantage plans in 2027:

  • Allina Health | Aetna (1-800-972-3601)
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of MN (1-844-777-0191)
  • HealthPartners (1-800-247-7015)
  • Medica (1-888-222-3197)
  • UnitedHealthcare (1-888-257-1764)

In addition to the Medicare Advantage plans listed above, Original Medicare (1-800-MEDICARE) remains an option, but it does not cover Allina Health’s Senior Health Co-care or Community Palliative Care programs. If you choose Original Medicare, consider adding a Medicare Supplement plan to help cover costs. Medicare Supplement plans are offered by many insurance companies in Minnesota.

There is an additional enrollment period taking place from Jan. 1 to March 31, 2027. You have the opportunity to make one switch to a different Medicare Advantage plan during this time.

  • If you make an enrollment change during that time, your coverage will go into effect on the first of the following month.
  • For example, if you make a change Jan. 1, 2027 your coverage will begin Feb. 1, 2027.
  • During that gap time, you will not have access to Allina Health providers or services.

We recommend you take action to protect your access to care at Allina Health.

Frequently asked questions

Effective January 1, 2025, Allina Health is out of network with Humana Medicare Advantage. Humana was unwilling to present a new, responsible agreement to keep Allina Health in-network in 2025.

For patients with Humana Medicare Advantage plans, this means Humana will no longer cover your care at Allina Health at in-network rates in 2025.

Allina Health patients who have Humana Medicare Advantage plans and want to continue receiving in-network care from Allina will need to switch to another Medicare Advantage plan that includes Allina Health in-network.

Patients who are under the care of a physician for ongoing care may qualify for Continuity of Care benefits from Humana. This benefit would allow them to continue receiving care at an in-network rate for a period of time after the contract ends, usually about 90 days. For more information, patients must contact Humana at the number on the back of their insurance card to request a Continuity of Care application. Only Humana can determine if patients qualify for these benefits.
Patients can contact 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227), visit medicare.gov or reach out to a local health insurance broker for help making changes to their Medicare plan. They may also call Minnesota’s Senior LinkAge Line at 1-800-333-2433. We recommend patients take action to protect their access to care at Allina Health.
No. Allina Health will continue to accept Humana pharmacy plans. We will call you if you have Humana Medicare Advantage and a Humana pharmacy plan.
If you are a member of a Humana group retiree plan, this change does not apply to you. We will provide additional information to you soon via a letter and/or email.
Your hospice benefit is covered by Medicare Part A and you are able to continue service with Allina Health Hospice Care. Your hospice care will continue to be covered. Please call the Hospice intake line at 651-635-9173 for any additional questions.
We understand that this has caused frustration. We have been working with Humana for some time, and we had hoped we could come to an agreement. However, we were unable to do so. We made every effort to notify patients of the steps you can take to prevent a lapse in care and continue to see your Allina Health provider in the new year.
