[New Ulm Journal, August 26, 2012]   The New Ulm Medical Center is planning a massive overhaul of its birth center to create new, expansive facilities for taking care of families during births. The $1.2 million dollar project will restructure NUMC's existing four-room space to six rooms.

[Star Tribune, July 03, 2012]   Allina Health said Monday it will invest $22 million to expand Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. The Minneapolis-based health system said the new 120,000-square-foot building will feature the Virginia Piper Cancer Institute , as well as specialty care, outpatient surgery services and obstetrics/women's care.

[River Falls Journal, December 13, 2010]   The opportunity and excitement of her newest miracle was not lost on Idil Hasbay, who traveled halfway across the globe, from Dubai, a country in the Middle East, to deliver her baby in River Falls with Kevin Hallman, MD, OB/GYN, of the River Falls Medical Clinic. “We liked Dr. Hallman so much, it was worth the trip,” said Idil, who heard of Dr. Hallman by fortunate chance 13 years ago while living in Iowa.

The local hospital is unveiling its new birth center, where every patient room will be equipped with an iPod docking station, a flat-screen TV and DVD player, a soaking tub, rocking chair and refrigerator -- oh, and a place for the baby to sleep, too.
