[Twin Cities Business Magazine, August 09, 2017]   In a repeat from last year, Abbott Northwestern, which is run by Minneapolis-based Allina Health , was selected as the best hospital in the Twin Cities area. Allina Health chief executive Penny Wheeler said in a statement that the company was “especially proud” of the hospital's high ranking.

[Twin Cities Business Magazine, June 07, 2017]   The Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute , owned by Allina Health, will open one of the largest adaptive fitness and wellness centers in the nation next week. Minneapolis-based Allina said the $4.75 million needed to build the 6,300-square-foot exercise facility was funded entirely through donations.

[Twin Cities Business, April 19, 2011]   Allina Hospitals & Clinics has started work on a project that has been on its radar for about 10 years—a consolidated central medical laboratory. Construction began in March on the new $29 million lab for Allina Medical Laboratories , which will house 400 employees who are currently spread out among 12 labs located in five different buildings on the Abbott Northwestern Hospital campus.

[Twin Cities Business, March 31, 2011]   The annual Thomson Reuters study of the “100 Top Hospitals” honored two Minnesota medical centers including Allina's Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, recognized in the medium community hospitals category. Reuters evaluated 2,914 hospitals across the country on measures of overall organization performance  including patient care.

[Twin Cities Business Magazine, May 26, 2010]   Ken Paulus, CEO of Minneapolis-based Allina Hospitals and Clinics, has voluntarily chosen to work without compensation until the hospital settles current negotiations with its nurses. In an e-mail sent to all Allina employees on Thursday, Paulus said that he had "plenty of worries" about the hospital's negotiations with local nurses and the nurses' recent vote to authorize a strike.
