Organ donors, recipients come together at Abbott Northwestern for Donate Life event

[KSTP TV, April 05, 2018] A group of Minnesotans who are living life to the fullest after organ donation met to say thank you Thursday.

Two sisters are healthy and happy nine years after one of the sisters donated a kidney to the other. She was battling kidney disease. The two say they celebrate their donation day every year with the help of their loved ones.

The room at Abbott Northwestern Hospital was full of people attending the annual Donate Life event. They are all celebrating and grieving loved ones who have chosen to donate.

"I feel blessed to be able to have this health that I've had for the last nine years," says Linda Goddard who received the kidney from her sister.
