Tech World: Biomed, Nurses Team Up on Device Alarm Challenge

[Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, January 01, 0001] With the growing number of devices used in hospitals, healthcare technology management professionals and nurses are working more closely together to provide patients with the best possible care. HTM professionals ensure the availability of functional, properly configured equipment, and nurses rely on this technology to provide quality care to patients.

At the intersection of these goals are initiatives to decrease the often overwhelming number of alarms produced by medical devices—an effort intended to reduce so-called alarm fatigue in clinicians and improve patient safety.
