Allina welcomes Tom Thompson as new hospital president

[Hastings Star Gazette, December 17, 2015] Regina Hospital has a new leader. Tom Thompson, a Little Falls native, took the hospital’s top spot on Nov. 8. Since then, he’s been through some orientation and is now getting to know the unique aspects of how the organization works. “It’s been a great first month,” he said. “People have been incredibly helpful and patient.” Thompson is a graduate of Saint John’s University and did his graduate work at Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. He comes to Hastings with 27 years of experience as a CEO. Most of that was spent with two large faith-based health systems, he said. One was St. Mary’s in Detroit Lakes. His most recent role was president and CEO of Samaritan Healthcare in Moses Lake, Washington, where he worked for two and a half years.
