Mono-Ski Madness event helps disabled find freedom on the slopes

[Duluth Tribune, February 13, 2014] A strong sense of independence and drive to fly down the slopes allowed disabled skiers to dominate the slopes at Spirit Mountain on Wednesday. The Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute is hosting the 11th annual Great Lakes Mono-Ski Madness and Race Camp. From Wednesday to Friday, participants ages 9 to 54 will learn from and ski with Olympic and Paralympic caliber skiers. Ski instructors will assess the participants’ skills and teach them how to improve their skiing.
