[KSTP TV, January 08, 2013] A St. Louis Park teen has died after battling the flu. Fourteen-year-old Carly Christenson came home from basketball practice with a sore throat on Dec. 20. She ended up in a Minneapolis hospital on Christmas Eve. A St. Louis Park school official says Carly did receive a vaccination.
Still, Allina Medical Clinic - Woodlake pediatrician Anne Valaas-Turner, MD, says the flu vaccine is the best tool to prevent the flu and that teen flu deaths are extremely rare. Watch the KSTP report below.
