In sickness and in health: Wife donates kidney to ailing husband at Abbott Northwestern Hospital

[Lillie News, January 01, 0001] When Terrie and Eldy Rameaux of Woodbury vowed stay at each other's sides in sickness and in health nine years ago, they didn't know that someday that vow would lead Terrie to donate one of her kidneys to Eldy.

Although Eldy could have survived for years on dialysis, the couple decided the transplant would provide him with the quality of life he was missing. He continued his dialysis treatments through most of September, and on Sept. 24 he and Terrie underwent the living donor kidney transplant surgery at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, part of Allina Health.
