Allina Health, Blue Cross form new insurance option

[Pioneer Press, September 19, 2012] Health insurers in Minnesota are jumping on the ACO bandwagon. ACO is the abbreviation for "accountable care organization," a new system that links insurance companies, hospitals and doctors with the idea of better coordinating care and costs. On Tuesday, Eagan-based Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota announced a similar product in conjunction with the Minneapolis-based Allina Health System.
