Minn. soldier watches baby's birth on Skype from Allina's Mercy Hospital

[KSTP TV, September 02, 2011] Emilynn Robbins' birth was an international event but still remained a private family moment.

Her dad, Nick, is serving in Kuwait . He was scheduled to be home for her birth via scheduled c-section in a couple of weeks, but Emilynn wasn't waiting.

That's where Skype came into the picture. While doctors at Mercy Hospital got ready for surgery on Tuesday, IT staff scrambled to connect a laptop in the operating room.
