Antibiotics use down, and that's good

Doctors are getting better about not giving unneeded antibiotics to children, but are still handing out the drugs far too often, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports.

More than half of all prescriptions written for children 14 and under are for colds, flu, and other respiratory infections – which are mostly caused by viruses and immune to antibiotics. Allina Medical Clinic pediatrician, Dr. Anne Valaas-Turner talked with Fox 9's Jeff Goldberg about the over use of antibiotics. Watch below.
