Allina Hospitals & Clinics honors military employees on Flag Day

Allina Hospitals & Clinics recognized employees who are serving or have served in the military or the reserves on Flag Day at its corporate headquarters in Minneapolis.

A reception for employees, military dignitaries and politicians was held, speakers included Curt Cooper, president of the General John Vessey Jr. Chapter of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA); Tom Lyons, host of the Minnesota Military Radio Hour, a member of the board of directors of the Minnesota Military Family Foundation;      Major General Richard Nash, Adjutant General of the Minnesota National Guard, and Ken Paulus, president and CEO of Allina Hospitals & Clinics.

Checks were presented to AUSA and Minnesota Military Family Foundation for $5,000 each in honor and recognition of Allina service members and their families.

Employees assembled care packages for coworkers and family members of coworkers who are serving overseas. The supplies were donated by Allina employees from throughout the system.

Allina’s support extends beyond the Flag Day Celebration. Allina launched a message board to help employees who have loved ones serving in the military connect with each other. The site, Allinafamilies.ning.com offers tools to post topics for discussion, share photos and gather strength from others who are also experiencing the unique challenges of having a loved one serving overseas.
