Allina sells clinics in Pine City, Mora, Hinckley to Kanabec Hospital

[Pine City Pioneer, May 04, 2010] Kanabec Hospital and Allina Medical Clinic have finalized negotiations resulting in Kanabec Hospital purchasing the Allina Medical Clinics in Pine City, Hinckley and Mora. A binding agreement for purchase was finalized on April 21 by the Kanabec Hospital Board of Directors, and the Kanabec County Board of Commissioners signed off on the deal last week. As part of the purchase agreement Allina has committed to financially supporting clinic operations through 2015.

“The strategic partnership between Allina Hospitals and Clinics and Kanabec hospital will benefit patients and the community by helping to ensure long-term availability of primary and specialty care physicians in the area.” Allina president and CEO Kenneth H. Paulus said. “This will be especially important as we prepare for health care reform, which will depend on a strong and growing group of caregivers in the region.”
