Owatonna Hospital transfers patients to new facility

[Owatonna People's Press, October 17, 2009] All was quiet, except for the measured breaths of about 350 local medical professionals and the dozens of assisting personnel that traveled in to assist with the transition. It was the morning of the big move that hospital staff have spent more than a year and a half preparing for. And with 13 patients in need of a safe transport to their new beds, timing was everything. Staff from New Ulm Medical Center and Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, Minn., as well as a plethora of personnel from the corporate office of Allina Hospitals & Clinics, were all standing by. Wearing red, green and purple jackets (coded for their duties), they manned a control center that spanned three rooms on the hospital first floor.
