Owatonna Hospital Auxiliary announces scholarship recipients

OWATONNA, Minn. 6/1/2018  The Owatonna Hospital Auxiliary recently awarded scholarships, totaling more than $14,000 to 14 area students who are attending or will attend an accredited educational institution and have declared a healthcare-related major.

The Donald Sanford Nursing Scholarship program is for those individuals who have declared a nursing major and are entering their first year or more of school.  The Auxiliary Health Related Career Scholarship program is for those individuals entering or currently attending school and have declared a healthcare-related major.

Recipients of the Donald Sanford Nursing Scholarship are:  
• Elena Bueltel — attending University of Minnesota; majoring in nursing.
• Kathryn Dufrene — attending University of Minnesota; majoring in nursing.

Recipients of the Auxiliary Health Related Career Scholarship are: 
• Caitlin Anderson — attending Winona State University; majoring in nursing.
• Kristine Boubin — attending Winona State University; majoring in nursing.
• Ryan Emanuelson — attending University of Minnesota-Duluth; majoring in doctorate of medicine.
• Ryan Hagen — attending Winona State University and is majoring in nursing.
• Halie Higgins — attending Bethel University; majoring in physician assistant studies.
• Tammy Jarvi — attending Capella University; majoring in nursing (RN to BSN). 
• Michelle McMurphy — attending Southern New Hampshire University; majoring in nursing (RN to BSN).
• Meagan Nowariak — attending Gustavus Adolphus College; majoring in biology (pre-medicine).
• Deborah Orchard — attending South Central College in North Mankato; majoring if medical assisting.
• Margaret Schlicker — attending Valparaiso University; majoring in physician assistant studies.
• Britt Schultz — attending Augsburg University; majoring in nurse practitioner studies.
• Grace Valen — attending Augustana University; majoring in biology (pre-medicine).

Proceeds from Owatonna Hospital Auxiliary’s Festival of Tables go toward the funding of these scholarships.

To be eligible for an Owatonna Hospital Auxiliary scholarship, students must have declared a major and live within Steele County.
