OWATONNA, Minn. 4/6/2018  Suffering from stress, side effects of acute or chronic illnesses, or simply looking for relaxation? Healing Touch, a holistic energy therapy that supports the body’s natural healing process, is safe and supportive for all age groups.

“Healing Touch is a wonderful complement and sometimes alternative to pain treatment,” says Sharon Whelan, RN and certified healing touch practitioner at Owatonna Hospital. “Plus, it works on all aspects of you at the same time — physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.”

Healing Touch complements traditional health care and is used in collaboration with other approaches to health and healing. Benefits may include:

  • reducing stress
  • calming anxiety and depression
  • decreasing pain
  • strengthening the immune system
  • enhancing recovery from surgery
  • deepening spiritual connection
  • supporting cancer care
  • creating a sense of well-being
  • easing acute and chronic conditions
  • complementary care for neck and back problems.

“You receive benefits specific to your needs,” says Whelan. “It’s safe and clients often leave feeling relaxed and calm.”

Healing Touch is used extensively at hospitals, clinics and private practices. It’s a certified educational program and is endorsed by the American Holistic Nurses Association.

Outpatient sessions are available Wednesday afternoons from 1-4 p.m. at Penny George™ Institute for Health and Healing at Owatonna Hospital. For more information, pricing and to schedule an appointment, call 507-977-2150.
