Grants were awarded to 73 organizations and groups of neighbors to support activities that promoted social connections and increased healthy behaviors, healthy eating and active living.

A total of 243 applications were received from throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

The 2013 grants ranged from $500 to $5,000.

The 2013 recipients of the Neighborhood Health Connection Grants were:

Cambridge Kids at the Beach and Outreach Healthy snacks and activities for more than 300 youth during the summer
  Cambridge-Isanti Early Childhood Programs Exercise classes and daycare for parents in early childhood classes and weekly yoga classes for teachers and staff
