    Screening and diagnostic tests

Understanding the signs, symptoms and risk factors for breast cancer is important to overall breast health awareness.

Routine mammography, clinical breast examination and breast self-examination are the basic screening tools for early detection of breast cancer.

United Breast Center's advanced screening and diagnostic services can also detect and evaluate breast conditions such as a new lump, cysts, microcalcifications, fibrocystic breast changes, mastitis, concerns about breast implants and cancer.

    Treatment options

If you have a diagnosis of breast cancer or another problem that requires treatment, an individualized plan will be developed between you and your physician. After a detailed evaluation of your medical concern, and a discussion of your personal issues and preferences, the team at United Breast Center will recommend treatment options.

Patients seeking treatment at United Breast Center also have access to cancer rehabilitation and lymphedema services, genetic counseling, clinical research studies and complementary therapies.

    Three-dimensional (3-D) mammography now available

Three-dimensional (3-D) mammography (also known as breast tomosynthesis) creates 3-D images of your breast using low-dose digital X-rays.

    Sage Screening Program

United Breast Center participates in the Minnesota Department of Health's Sage Screening Program. This program is dedicated to increasing the number of women who are screened for breast and cervical cancer. It provides free screening and follow-up services to uninsured and underinsured women.
