Visiting us

Visiting a patient

General visiting hours 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

All visitors currently in the building at 8 p.m. and planning to stay need to have authorization from nursing and be registered at each department. The Birth Center is closed between 1 and 3 p.m. to allow for quiet time for babies and mothers.

Following are general guidelines for visitors:

  • Visitors unable to enter the patient's room due to care or treatment provided by health care staff are asked to wait in guest lounge areas.
  • Visitors should maintain a quiet environment and avoid unnecessary noise.
  • After 8 p.m., please enter through the emergency department (ED) doors and check in at the ED registration desk.
  • Visitors may be asked to leave the room during tests or treatments or when the doctor or nurse needs to provide care for the patient.
  • Pets of any kind are not allowed with the exception of service animals for a disability.

Free wi-fi/wireless high-speed internet access is available for patients and visitors at the hospital.

Tobacco-free campus

In keeping with the Owatonna Hospital purpose of promoting health and healing, tobacco usage is not permitted on the campus.

Parking

Ample free parking for hospital patients and visitors is available in the lots near the main lobby and Emergency Department entrances with additional parking near the Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute - Owatonna entrance (north side).
