The Adult Mental Health Outpatient Program (AMHOP) assists clients in learning to cope with obstacles that they are experiencing in daily life. Flexible scheduling allows gradual transitions back into the community after completing more intensive treatment.
The primary goal is to assist adults in overcoming obstacles that interfere with daily living, using assessment, treatment and structure to stabilize and improve their mental health.
The outpatient program offers customized services and flexible scheduling of three hours a day, one to five days a week. The frequency and length of treatment is based on individual needs. Most clients attend one to three times per week for an average of three months.
Most health insurance plans provide reimbursement for outpatient mental health treatment. Hospital staff will confirm eligibility and coverage before the program is started.
Participants are referred to the Adult Mental Health Outpatient Program by psychiatrists, family practitioners, therapists, county agencies, clergy, other hospitals, family members or by self-referral.
Intake appointments are scheduled, Monday through Friday, by calling 763-236-8700.
