Robotic-assisted surgery is quickly becoming the preferred option for treating many conditions.
Unlike a traditional laparoscopic gallbladder removal, the sophisticated robotic technology of the da Vinci with Single-Site instruments enables our surgeons to use a single, tiny incision through the navel - resulting in a virtually painless and scar-free experience.
Single-Site surgery enables the surgeon to operate through one small opening or port. A single incision through the belly button is all that's needed for Single-Site robotic-assisted surgeries that remove the gallbladder.
Surgeons use robotic-assisted surgery to treat problems affecting the: prostate, kidneys, bladder, uterus, colon, hernia, gallbladder and esophagus. However, not all procedures using the da Vinci can be performed with a single incision.
Your surgeon will assess whether or not your condition can be treated with this technique and discuss the risks and benefits of all robotic-assisted procedures.
This project was made possible by generous contributions to Mercy & Unity Hospitals Foundation.
Ask your doctor if robotic-assisted surgery could be an option for you.
