Hospitalization

  • Following evaluation, full or partial hospitalization may be recommended for some individuals.

    Full hospitalization

With full hospitalization, a team of mental health professionals assesses, stabilizes, and works with each patient as they learn how to manage their illness. Programs may include:

    • individual and group psychotherapy (talking through problems)
    • family involvement
    • educational programming
    • treatment and crisis planning
    • medication management

    Partial hospitalization

Partial hospitalization is for patients who have enough support at home or in their community to return to a safe environment each evening.

    Our programs include:

    • Day treatment for adults - Adults attend six hours of programming, five days a week. Each person works with a team of mental health professionals. His or her program may include individual and group therapy, family involvement, education about his or her condition, treatment and crisis planning, and medication management.
    • Support and therapy groups - Children and adults may attend a support group free of charge. Additional therapy groups are available.
  • Addiction services

Allina Health Mental Health and addiction services programs support and educate adults and adolescents as they work through addiction to alcohol or drugs.
