Stand next to a kitchen counter or table, and hold on securely. Stand up straight during these exercises. Work up to holding for 5 seconds.

Raise up onto the balls of your feet.
Bend your knees slightly, by sitting back with your hips.
Lift your leg out to the side.
Bend your knee, as you bring your heel up toward your buttocks.
Raise your forefeet off the floor.
Bend your knee as you bring it up toward the ceiling.
Lift your leg slightly backward, while squeezing your buttocks. Keep your knee straight.
Lift your leg forward off the ground. Keep your knee straight.
Side leg lifts (abduction/adduction)
Lie on your non-surgical side with a pillow between your legs. Lift your surgical leg straight up to the side. Hold for ______
seconds. Slowly lower your leg down and relax. Repeat ______ times.
Slowly raise your buttocks from the bed, keeping your stomach muscles tight. Hold for ______ seconds. Slowly lower your buttocks down and relax.
