    Mother Loss for Adult Daughters

    Six-week support group series for daughters of mothers who have died within the last two years.

    Adult Loss Therapy Groups

    The Center for Grief offers therapy groups designed to provide a safe and supportive setting for people to share their loss journey with others. These groups are facilitated by professional grief therapists and provide an opportunity for participants to explore the impact that the loss has had and continues to have on their lives. Groups available include such topics as these:

    • Parent Loss Group

    SIDS Parent Support Group: for Sudden Infant Death of any cause

    This group is for parents whose infants have died unexpectedly. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday evenings from 6:30–8 p.m. at Children's Hospital, 2525 Chicago Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55404. Contact 612-813-6285 or kathleen.fernbach@childrensMN.org. Please call ahead.

    Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support Group

    For parents who have experienced a perinatal loss. This group meets the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month on the St. Paul campus. Registration is required; however, there is no fee. Contact 651-241-6206 for more information.

    Self-Care During the Holidays

    For adults grieving the death of a loved one as they prepare for the holidays. Learn more about grief and the importance of self-care. A variety of self-care approaches for reducing stress, processing grief and creating balance will be offered, as well as suggestions on how to navigate the holidays while grieving.

    Walking Through Grief

    For people who are grieving the death of a loved one. Group members will have opportunities to reflect on grief and loss and receive relevant grief education and materials.

    Writing for Reflection, Remembrance, and Renewal

    Safely explore your feelings of grief through writing. You will be guided through specific writing prompts to find renewed ways of viewing your grief journey and giving shape to your life.

    Managing Loss and Grief through Yoga

    The experience of loss can impact one's mind, emotions, spirit and body. Yoga is a practice that incorporates movement, breath and relaxation to manage emotions such as grief. This program is open to people brand new to yoga, as well as those who have more experience. We invite you to experience this practice and learn practical tools you can use as you go through the grieving process.

    Music & Imagery Group

    This group is an experiential exploration of inner creativity through music, imagery, and mandalas. Tap into the transformational power of music to help access inner resilience while exploring feelings and expressions of grief. No music or art experience/skills are necessary to participate and benefit from this program. A commitment to attending all three sessions in this series is requested. Registration will include participating in a brief phone conversation to ensure this group is the right fit for you.
