    Grief Education and Support - Downtown Coalition

    The Downtown Coalition for Grief Support, comprised of downtown faith communities, sponsors this series. Each meeting includes an educational presentation or a personal story of grief and recovery, and small group discussions.

    When: Weekly, Saturday 9:30–10 a.m., registration and hospitality; 10–10:30, speaker; 10:30–11:30 discussion groups
    Where: Location rotates each season.

    This group is intended for anyone who has lost someone significant through death and wants support and education around the grieving process.

    Pathways Remembrance Ritual

    You are warmly invited to gather at Pathways for a time of remembering during a season in which the inevitable losses of life can feel magnified. Join Pathways community members in an intentional time of remembering and optional sharing of memories.

    The South Minneapolis Coalition of Churches sponsors a speaker and small group series.

    Spouse Grief Support Group – Mount Olivet

    This group is intended for spouses who have lost their significant other through death and want support and education around the grieving process.

    Bereaved Parent Support Group

    An opportunity for parents to meet with, and receive support from, other parents who know and appreciate the intense grief that comes when a child dies. Designed for parents who have experienced the death of a child from infancy through approximately age 21. 
    When: Second Thursday of the month, 5:30-7 p.m.
    Where: alternates between Children's Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses: Oct. 11 Mpls, Nov. 8 St. Paul. Children's Minnesota St. Paul Campus, Garden View Tower, Room 1053/1054; Children's Minnesota Minneapolis Campus, Children's Specialty Center, Room 506

    Am I experiencing grief or depression? (for bereaved parents/guardians)

    Given the overlap in grief and depression symptoms, it can be hard for a parent to know what they are experiencing. Learn about some signs which may indicate the need for additional support.

    Grief several years down the road (for bereaved parents/guardians)

    Join a panel of bereaved parents who are a number of years down the road in their grief. They will share thoughts on coping, wisdom from challenges met, and ideas for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and daily life.
