    Cinnamon-honey sweet potatoes Heart Smart Gluten Free Low Sodium

    This recipe gets its “warm” flavor from cinnamon, a diverse no-salt spice that can be used in desserts, warm cereals and hearty soups too!

    Ingredients

    nonstick cooking spray
    4 large-size (or 6 medium-size) sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into bite-size pieces
    2 tablespoons canola oil
    1/2 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
    2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
    3 tablespoons honey

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 375 F. Spray a medium baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
    2. Place all ingredients in a medium bowl. Toss until sweet potatoes are evenly coated with other ingredients. Pour into the baking dish and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
    3. Allow to cool slightly and enjoy!

    You can also make this side dish on the grill! Simply place coated sweet potatoes in the center of a piece of aluminum foil, fold up the sides to make a pouch and grill for 25 to 30 minutes.
