    Cabbage is packed with antioxidants ("cancer-fighters") and can also help to lower LDL cholesterol ("bad cholesterol").

    Ingredients

    1 pound extra-lean (95 percent) ground beef
    1 1/2 cups thinly sliced sweet onion
    2 cups grated carrots
    1 medium head cabbage, chopped
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    1 teaspoon ground ginger
    1/2 teaspoon sea salt

    Directions

    1. Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. (You can also brown the ground beef in a wok.)
    2. When beef is almost done, add onions and carrots. Cook for 5 minutes, until slightly softened.
    3. Add cabbage and spices. Cook for another 10 minutes or until cabbage is softened.
    4. Serve warm.

After browning the ground beef, add it to a large bowl with the vegetables. Add spices and mix well. Put the mixture in a slow cooker and cook on low heat for 3 to 4 hours.
