    Apple crisp yogurt parfait Gluten Free Low Sodium

    This kid-friendly snack or dessert is a healthful swap for sugar-filled apple crisp!

    Ingredients

    1 medium apple, unpeeled and thinly sliced
    1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
    1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, divided
    1 tablespoon chopped walnuts
    1 tablespoon old-fashioned oats (uncooked)
    1 teaspoon unsalted butter
    1 cup fat-free vanilla Greek yogurt

    Directions

    1. In a small mixing bowl, sprinkle apple slices with lemon juice and toss until well-coated. Sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Set aside.
    2. In a small skillet, combine walnuts and oats over medium heat, stirring, until lightly browned. Remove from heat, and add the butter and remaining cinnamon. Stir and allow to cool for 5 minutes.
    3. Place several apple slices in the bottom of each of 4 small bowls, sprinkle with a little bit of the walnut-oat mixture and top with 1/4 cup yogurt. Place one more layer of apple and walnut-oat mixture in each bowl. Enjoy!
