This team participates in regular treatment planning conferences to ensure that treatment plans reflect the individual needs of each patient.
The care team also includes social workers, a chaplain and dietitians who work within District One Hospital.

Our medical oncologist will oversee your general cancer care and will work with other specialists to coordinate your treatments. Medical oncologists prescribe chemotherapy and other anti-cancer drugs, as well as pain medicine.

Our nurse practitioner works closely with physicians, surgeons and families to care for individuals with cancer and support them through all stages of treatment. Working closely with our medical oncologist, the nurse practitioner will see you on a regular basis to ensure that potential side effects
of treatment are managed. The nurse practitioner will provide holistic care that addresses the needs of your body, mind and spirit. After you have completed treatment, the nurse practitioner will provide you with a survivorship treatment summary.
