  • Special events put on by Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute are happening throughout the year. Events can be found in both Duluth Northland and Twin Cities metro areas.

    Arrowhead Youth Games (Duluth)

    Activity extravaganza cooperative between regional schools, UMD and Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute Duluth, brings together elementary and middle school youth with disabilities to experience a wide variety of adapted sport and recreational activities including dance, bowling, parachute games, archery, wheelchair races, Frisbee, disc golf, bocce ball, cycling and much more!

    Courage Kenny Classic Wheelchair Basketball Tournament

    Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute has hosted a fall wheelchair basketball tournament for 36+ years, and the Courage Kenny Classic attracts some of the most competitive wheelchair basketball teams in the U.S. All of the athletes have lower-body extremity disabilities and range in age from five to 18. This event attracts some of the best Prep and Varsity Division level teams in the country and serves as a Regional Qualifier for the NWBA.  The tournament is held the first weekend in November each year.

    No Boundaries - Intro to Wheelchair Sports Two-Day Camp

    No Boundaries – Intro to Wheelchair Sports Day Camp – Learn and play new sports! Learn about a variety of wheelchair sports and recreation activities in this two day camp! Your instructors include Paralympics athletes, coaches, outdoor professionals and energetic volunteers. This camp is specifically designed for youth with lower extremity disabilities.

    CKRI Northland Fishing Tournament (Duluth)

    This tournament is designed for adults who have physical disabilities, and/or visual impairments.  No angling experience is necessary, ability to tell a good fish story is required!

    Dog sled and sleigh ride adventure day (Duluth)

    Learn about dog sledding including seeing the dogs, sleds and equipment.  This event features dog sledding and draft horse rides with Positive Energy Outdoors.

    Mono Ski Madness (Duluth)

     A partnership with Spirit Mountain and DSUSA, this amazing event brings together skiers and instructors from across the Midwest and from top ski resorts out west to work with beginner - advanced level mono-skiers to improve their skiing skills. Bring your own equipment or use ours.
