    We will begin receiving applications October 1 for the 2019-20 residency year. Interviews will begin after December 1 and will continue until programs are filled, typically around March.  Learn about the application process.

    Residency program descriptions

    Allina CPE Residency Programs at Abbott Northwestern, United and Mercy Hospitals

    Our programs include three units of ACPE-accredited clinical pastoral education and offers advanced, specialized training in clinical pastoral care, emphasizing spiritual/theological integration, ethical reflection, and pastoral leadership. Residents experience clinical assignments that provide in-depth exposure to specialty areas, enabling each student to become an integral part of the health care team.

    Salary and benefits

    Salary

    Part of salary may be designated as non-taxable housing if ordained or commissioned.

    2018-2019 residency program salary rates are as follows:

    • Abbott Northwestern Hospital (12 month program): $32,096 plus compensation for scheduled on-call coverage
    • Mercy and United Hospitals (9 month programs): $24,072 plus compensation for scheduled on-call coverage

    Medical and dental insurance; paid time off, tuition reimbursement for continuing education

    Tuition

    $375 for each unit (A $375 security deposit is required within 2 weeks of being accepted. This non-refundable deposit is applied to the first unit tuition.)
