Carbinoxamine/phenylephrine (By mouth)

Carbinoxamine (kar-bin-OX-a-meen), Phenylephrine (fen-il-EF-rin)

Treats cough, sneezing, runny nose, and stuffy nose caused by allergy, colds, or flu.

There may be other brand names for this medicine.

When This Medicine Should Not Be Used:

Your child should not receive this medicine if he or she has had an allergic reaction to carbinoxamine or phenylephrine, or if your child has high blood pressure or heart disease. Your child should not be given this medicine if he or she is receiving a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as Eldepryl®, Marplan®, Nardil®, or Parnate®. Do not give any over-the-counter (OTC) cough and cold medicine to a baby or child under 4 years old. Using these medicines in very young children might cause serious or possibly life-threatening side effects.
