Metal chelators (By mouth)

Treats heavy metal poisoning. May also be used to treat rheumatoid arthritis or cystinuria (too much cystine in your urine).

Chemet, Cuprimine, Depen, Ferriprox, Jadenu, Syprine

There may be other brand names for this medicine.

When This Medicine Should Not Be Used:

Make sure your doctor knows if you have had an allergic reaction to any chelating agent such as penicillamine, succimer, or trientine. Make sure your doctor knows if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor if you have kidney disease.
