Regina Hospital, part of Allina Health, welcomes two new general surgeons to Hastings.
Jeffrey Lodermeier, MD, will provide general surgery services to Regina and United Hospitals, part of Allina Health. While the majority of his time will be spent in the Hastings community, he will also serve as trauma director for United Hospital in Saint Paul.
Lodermeier obtained his medical degree from the University of Minnesota and completed his general surgery residency at the University of California, Davis Medical Center. He formerly served as a surgeon in the Air Force, including multiple tours of duty around the world. Lodermeier also practiced at the VA Maryland Health Care System in Baltimore while serving as a Lt. Colonel for the United States Air Force.
Lodermeier’s clinical interests include minimally invasive general surgery, gastrointestinal surgery and hernia repair.
Garret Lechtenberg, MD, is the second general surgeon joining Regina Hospital. He will also provide general surgery services for the communities of Saint Paul and River Falls, Wis.
Lechtenberg obtained his medical degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He recently completed his general surgery residency at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. His interests include broad-based surgical care including hernia repair, surgical oncology, thyroid/parathyroid surgery and anti-reflux surgery.
“Having access to these skilled surgeons will be of great benefit to our patients,” said Tom Thompson, president of Regina Hospital. “Attracting top-notch medical talent to our hometown hospital is one of many ways Allina Health continues to invest in the Hastings area and surrounding communities.”
