On Monday, July 31, Lisa Shannon assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer for Allina Health. The Chief Operating Officer, a new position, has oversight responsibility for Allina Health’s hospitals, primary and specialty care divisions, and information services. Shannon will report to Allina Health President and CEO, Penny Wheeler, MD.

Shannon comes to Allina Health from KentuckyOne Health, Kentucky’s largest integrated health system, where she most recently served as President, Health System Delivery. There she had overall responsibility for care delivery across the system, which includes 13 hospitals, two managed hospitals (University of Louisville Hospital and Taylor Regional Hospital), a Clinically Integrated Network, the KentuckyOne Medical Group, and comprehensive ambulatory services at more than 200 locations. She joined KentuckyOne Health in 2014 as Chief Operating Officer and assumed her current role shortly thereafter.
Prior to joining KentuckyOne Health, Lisa served in several executive leadership roles at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan, including three years as Chief Operating Officer. A graduate of Bowling Green State University in Ohio, and with an MBA from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio, Lisa began her career as a clinical dietitian at The Community Hospital in Springfield, Ohio, and spent 10 years at OhioHealth Corporation in Columbus, eventually rising to Vice President of Ambulatory Services.
