The Care Connection Thrift Store, which closed the end of last year, will reopen in a new location on Tuesday, March 28, as the Allina Health Hospice Thrift Store. As it did before, the thrift store will collect and resell donated goods with the proceeds going to support the Allina Health Home Health and Allina Health Hospice programs in the Glencoe and Hutchinson region.
We are pleased to announce that our search to find a replacement location for the Care Connection Thrift Store has been successful," said Julia Crist, Interim President for Allina Health Home Care Services. "Our new location for the Allina Health Hospice Thrift Store will open soon. We are grateful for our many thrift store volunteer workers who are already sorting through new donations as we prepare to open our doors again."
The new store is at 1018 Greeley Avenue in Glencoe.
Crist would like the community to know that proceeds from the new Allina Health Hospice Thrift Store will go to support Allina Health's hospice and home health care services that it provides in the Glencoe and Hutchinson area just as the proceeds from the Care Connection Thrift Store did before. The Allina Health Hospice Thrift Store is a community resource that will benefit hospice and home health patients in the community. The funds go to such services as music therapy, massage therapy, aroma therapy, bereavement support for loved ones, community grief support group, and the charity care fund.
The new Allina Health Hospice Thrift Store is already accepting donations from Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Once the store reopens on March 28, donations will be accepted during normal store hours.
